Flexibility in the cloud
The Swiss are renowned for their love of precision, reliability and value for money. And when it comes to IT, they are no different. The largest worldwide operator of airport shops, Nuance Group, headquartered in Zurich, and Basel-based Jet Aviation, an international business charter provider, benefit from SAP services delivered flexibly via a T-Systems’ network. Through flexible dynamic computing in the cloud, the ICT provider guarantees greater availability than with conventional outsourcing models. SAP applications are operated simultaneously at two separate data centers. That way, if one fails, the other facility simply takes over operations for Nuance Group’s 430 shops at 59 airports around the globe – regardless of time differences. Jet Aviation also requires a flexible SAP infrastructure for its core operations – aircraft maintenance and ground handling. The company relies on SAP software for all aspects of its business, from financial controlling, to procurement, to maintenance and repair of aircraft. If necessary, IT resources can be scaled up at short notice, for example for the organization of just-in-time delivery of aircraft components. Since switching to T-Systems, Jet Aviation has reduced operating costs for its IT solutions by 15 percent – savings that can now be invested in future growth.
